New York – The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attacks by the M23 rebel group on United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) peacekeepers in North Kivu on July 5, as part of an ongoing offensive in the area, which resulted in the death of an Indian soldier in Bunagana as well as the displacement of thousands of civilians and deaths of DRC forces.
