UNIC Pretoria supports inner-city festival against gender-based violence

In an effort to raise awareness on issues around gender-based violence, UNIC Pretoria staff members and interns supported an inner-city festival called Feast of the Clowns from 17 to 24 August. UNIC Pretoria engaged in the last day of the festival which featured a parade of over 2,000 participants who marched through the city centre of Pretoria. (more…)

G20 – With the world focused on the possible use of chemical weapons in Syria, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi reiterated to leaders attending the St. Petersburg for the Group of 20 (G20) summit the need to “push even harder” for a political solution to end the bloodshed in the war-torn Middle Eastern country. UN envoys urge renewed talks between M23, DR Congo Government
