Pretoria, 25 August 2017 – The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Pretoria visited and interacted with Grade 11 students at Eersterust Secondary School in Eersterust, east of Pretoria earlier this month for a fun-filled day aimed at informing students about the work and structures of the UN, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the TOGETHER campaign.
Residents of the remote township of Dzanani in Makhado in South Africa’s Limpopo Province recently got a boost, with the establishment of a new Resource Centre in their area. UNIC Pretoria visited the township to launch a new UN information corner.
The United Nations in Pretoria recently concluded a successful programme of educational outreach to nearly 900 students in ten schools around the country. The UN4U is a week-long programme commemorated by UN Information Centres globally, prior to UN Day on 24th October.
This week, the United Nations visited the Mosupatsela Secondary School in Krugersdorp, northwest of Johannesburg to give a talk to students about the role and work of the UN in South Africa. The visit was part of the UN4U, a week-long programme commemorated prior to UN Day on October 24.
