Lessons from Rwanda Exhibition

4 – 28 August 2011 – This “Lessons from Rwanda” exhibition presents an account of the events  that took place before, during and after the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. Its purpose is to raise awareness of lessons learned from these events, the work of the  International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and other judicial mechanisms in ending impunity, and the lasting impact of genocide on survivors.

The exhibit is a production of Aegis Trust for genocide prevention  in partnership with the United Nations Department of Public Information.The exhibit forms part of the Outreach Programme on the Rwanda Genocide of the United Nations established in accordance with the mandate provided by General Assembly resolution 60/225 of 2005.

The iconic Lilliesleaf Museum in Rivonia, Johannesburg, is hosting the exhibition until the 28th of August.
