1. INTRODUCTION

The UNAIDS Regional Support Team (RST) for Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) is based in Johannesburg, South Africa and supports 21 country offices in the ESA region. It is seeking the services of a junior consultant to support the RST ESA Communications and Global Outreach Adviser to undertake a number of writing assignments to further the media and communications objectives of the RST ESA.

2. RFQ DETAILS
The purpose of this RFQ is to select suitable supplier for the procurement of services to develop stories, articles and other written material and to assist with organizing campaigns and events to further the media and communication objectives of the RST ESA.
The consultancy offered is a junior, entry-level consultancy for a final-year university student or recent postgraduate who is seeking a career development opportunity, similar to a work placement experience. The focus of the consultancy is the acquisition of skills and competencies necessary to enhance the junior consultant’s future employability and facilitate the acquisition of higher skills alongside the consultant’s intellectual and personal enrichment. These include transferable, work-related and employability skills; time management skills; skills and competences related to communications and enhanced personal attitudes and behaviour in the workplace.
The consultancy aims to provide a stimulating and fulfilling experience for the junior consultant while enabling them to deepen their understanding of the goals, principles and activities of UNAIDS. It is a learning opportunity.
