The United Nations in South Africa participates in 67 KM Relay for Mandela Day

Johannesburg – The UN Communications Group–South Africa mobilised a team of ten UN staff members who participated in the 67KM Relay for Mandela Day initiative.

The event was organized by Kaya FM and the Nelson Mandela Foundation. To celebrate the 67 years Nelson Mandela worked to make the world a better place each team member completed a distance of 6.7 kilometres, adding up to a total of 67 kilometres. The event helped raise awareness about the Day as well as to raise funds for various charities. The UN group was joined by over a thousand additional teams, with over 10,000 runners in total.
